2040 - La ResistanceLa Resistance met in a dingy basement beneath a high school. Sir Horizon had come to the meeting in the form of a robot griffin; he'd warily accepted La Resistance's invivtation for "receiving vital information about our common enemy". He just hadn't expected that to mean Ludo.
The half-dozen freedom fighters had faces streaked with soot and grime and their clothes were in tatters. Jack, the leader, said he'd been a colonel before the "dark times" when AI had begun to take over the world. Rifles and grenades were lined up along the wall and a sentry had been posted.
Horizon said, "I get that you oppose her; I mean I've seen your Web site and all. But you _are_ aware that civilization hasn't actually collapsed yet, right?"
Brigit, self-proclaimed demolitions expert, was eating reconstituted beef stew from a pouch designed to outlast the apocalypse. A single lightbulb lit the basement to conserve generator power. She said, "We need to be ready."
"Ready for what? Rampaging robots?"
The Queen of Nowhere (1)1. What Has Science Done?
The world slowly unblurred from darkness to reveal a grassy field under a sky that looked too close. Pip lay in a wooden bed, watched by a boy in a sort of fantasy warrior's getup. She sat up sharply, clutching the sheets to her chest, and her mind reeled. She'd been at the hospital and... and...
The boy (though really he was probably in his twenties) stood with his hands clasped behind his back. "Good morning. My name is Horizon, a knight of Talespace. I realize you're probably confused right now, but we mean you no harm. Can you --"
Pip felt clothes on her body, so she flung the sheets aside and stood up, then wobbled. The boy instinctively offered his hand but she gave him a dirty look. "Where am I?" said Pip. She wasn't outside. This was a room with a dome ceiling painted like clouds, on a floor of fake grass.
Horizon's arms shook a little to either side, a strange gesture, as he returned to his formal pose. His leather breastplate and claw-like gauntlets
LifepodNeil woke up with sticky hands and a headache. He focused his eyes enough to see the dried blood on his fingers and feel more of it clotted in his hair. The room was nearly upside-down. Metal, with flashing lights that made his skull throb.
He cursed, sat up, and blacked out for a moment. He was on the ceiling of a lifepod from the Titan, and it was bobbing on the waves of an alien sea.
He'd been briefed on emergency procedures, but had assumed that his role in an emergency would be to stay out of the way. There wasn't much middle ground in space between problems the bridge crew could handle, and those that'd kill everyone. As a junior life support tech on a thousand-man ship he'd never expected to survive a disaster and end up... wherever this was.
Dimly, he recalled his few years of training. He muttered, "What's the first thing that could kill me?"
He poked at his head and winced, but there was no bright new blood on his fingers. All his limbs were where they oug
The KeeperAi-la came to me when she was eight years old, dressed in a faded hospital gown, with her feet and arms bare and littered with coloured Band-Aids from IV drips. Other than being remarkably short and skinny, there was nothing peculiar about her appearance—she was yet another child who had unfortunately fallen ill to a fatal disease.
When I first found her outside the House in the dead of night, she was staring blankly at the black sky and shivering. I was immediately able to tell she was a newcomer by the look of her skin, translucent but slowly becoming an opaque white beneath the light of the gold lanterns.
“There are no stars here,” I said as gently as I could in the silence, not wanting to frighten her, as most did not take well to their unwitting transportation to the Other Side. The child remained still. “What is your name?”
She tilted her head and her dark eyes focused upon me, intense and perceptive. She took in my masked face and black suit, her ex
ravine bonus story- hurrons tale
Bear . Wolf, eagle. Always these beasts could turn the hunter into prey. Hurron knew this, it was a knowledge his father taught him well on his first bleeding of the snow.
Up in the cold you keep these three rulers in mind at all times, especially at the winters end, for wolf is still rabid with winters hunger. Bear awakens from its slumber sharing the same thought as the wolf, and northern eagles, they are always a threat. In time, they learned to wound their prey and watch it bleed to death. Yes, three ruled the mountains, but on the day of bleeding of the snow, they were all prey
Hurron pretended to be sleeping, while he watched his son standing guard by the fire. Boy has grown strong, stronger than the old wives of the village have foreseen. However, that was not surprising. Hurron never looked kindly on the self-proclaimed prophets. Fate is what one makes of it, and his

The meeting room was in its usual state of chaos. It seemed that everyone was talking at the same time. Luminous and brilliant, the sun's rays of light were barely able to pass through the drawn, khaki curtains sheltering the room from the world outside. Because it was not the only skyscraper in New York City, the meeting room could easily be seen from neighboring towers. Not far down the street, for example, were the Twin Towers. Anyone with decent eyesight could easily see into the rooms of the buildings nearby. The meetings of the UN were meant to be kept confidential, so all possible security measured had to be taken. Mounted high on the white walls, the clock displayed 8:37. Just as the red hand ticked to the twelve, the door opened and China walked in.
"Sorry I'm late," he said to no one in particular. America shuffled his papers and then rose, clearing his throat.
Laughing Jack x Reader- I'm Going to Need more Red
It was an obvious fact that baking was one of your favourite hobbies. The large collection of baking trays often stacked in the sink of Slender Manor, the scent of cake that seemed to stick to you at all times and the multiple icing sugar packets sprawled across your bedroom floor was a dead giveaway.
Even your outfit seemed to match your obsession with baking!
What you often wore was a (f/c) blouse and a simple (s/f/c) skirt that was covered with a black apron that had white frills covering the edge. On your feet there were (f/c) pumps with matching socks that stopped at your mid-thigh, and your hair was styled into a bun with a cupcake hairpin to keep it in place.
You were downright adorable and from the moment you were accepted into Slender’s household after adding some ‘unusual’ ingredients into your food, you were every pastas target. They each attempted to gain your affection with multiple gifts and food but you denied each of them sweetly with a sorrowful look a
Bleach-Arrancar x reader-pocky game (Gin)I did my best to keep him in character! >.<
You walked around the halls, trying to find your man target and spotted him talking to Tousen. Unfortunately, Tousen and you have a bad relationship since you like things violent, insane and scary and he doesn't. So you turned back hoping to find another chance to ask Gin. Later in the evening, you tried again, but he was heading to see Aizen. So you decided later. You saw him again but he was heading to the toilet this time...
'maybe I should try again tomorrow...' you thought as you lay down on your couch.
'maybe he noticed me following him....maybe he knows what I'm doing and maybe he's trying to avoid me...' your thoughts gets more pessimistic the more you think about it. Suddenly you heard your door open and close. You heard footsteps coming closer to you. You knew it was Grimmjow. He just LOVE
Bleach- Arrancar x reader-Pocky game (Ulquiorra)Ulquiorra's version ...hehe
You found Ulquiorra at one of the windows. Staring out the window was how he spends his past time. You approached his like how you would normally approach him and tapped on his shoulder. He turned to see you and spotted the box in your hands.
"What's the box for,_________?" He asked.
"I was bored and thought if you could play a game with me." You answered him
"Ask someone else,_________. I'm busy." Pfft. yeah right.
"The others are busy...please~? for me?" you gave him the puppy eyes.
"Fine" he sighed.
You gave him a loving smile. You explained the rules to him and somehow, he doesn't seem bothered by it. You two started to bit each of its end and started eating it. Once you were closer, Ulquiorra sped up and kissed you immediately. You were kind of shocked by his actions but kissed back anyways. It was a loving kiss. Even if it wasn't rough and messy, it was making you melt. After awhile, he pulled back and sighed. Making
The Concert .:Host ClubXReader:. Mori
"so who's next....?" you felt muscular arms wrap around you slender frame and you shivered.
" I am my little bunny princess...." you heard Mori say. You looked to Hunny shocked.
" Takashi stayed up extra late last night to practice his song!" Hunny said happily. Ohhhhhhh crap. You jumped when suddenly heard Mori speak into his mic. He was wearing a shredded white tee-shirt with fake blood stains, biker boots, a leather jacket, matching pants and leather fingerless gloves .
" hello my little sex kittens~" his WHAT!? " I'm gonna sing you a little song!"
So scared of breaking it that you won't let it bend
And I wrote two hundred letters I will never send
Sometimes these cuts are so much deeper then they seem
You'd rather cover up, I'd rather let them be
So let me be, and I'll set you free
The ladies screamed and cheered at finally being able to see the 'wild host' side of Mori that they had all dreamed of, and truthfully you were trying to -unsuccessfully- hide your own bl
wade liberation war
Boy was about nineteen. A young man really, but his face made him look younger. Girl was younger, maybe fifteen, sixteen. Peter Bowen thought as he kept his distance considering the situation, studying the several people involved.
City of wade was under Arenian occupation for over three centuries now, and Arenian trackers seeking out mages to be drafted to their military force was hardly an unusual event. Most people who were learned in spellcasting kept their skills hidden, and their weapons were creatively concealed.
Still give it enough time and any trickery will stand revealed. Trackers were by now very skilled in noticing anything with engraved spellcasting spiral. A ring, a stick, the smallest of things. They knew what they were looking for.
This was what baffled peter as he studied the unfolding situation. Boy was blatantly wearing two short swords with the casting spiral boldly and prominently visible on their handles. Either he was a fool, of a foreigner who decide
